CRANE AND LOG TRUCK OPERATOR
Job Description
This is an advanced position requiring operation of the crane and Prentice log truck, including crane operation in tree removal and trimming operations, managing the wood pile, sorting and delivering all mill logs to designated mill, and assisting tree crews when equipment is not needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. minimum
- Class B CDL driver’s license
- Understands all company and industry safety policies
- Ability to follow directions (written and oral)
- Maintains a valid driver’s license
- Possesses and maintains certifications as related to job (NCCCO & DC Operators)
- Proficient in safe use and maintenance of chainsaws
- Ability to identify jobsite safety hazards
- Understands load radius chart per manufactures specifications
- Ability to set up crane/log truck per manufacture specifications
- Maintains equipment in a constant state of readiness
- Conducts a jobsite safety briefing related to crane use
- Ability to ID Hazards/Obstacles on job Ability to conduct crane safety briefing
- Has a good working knowledge of all rigging equipment
- Maintains all rigging equipment
- Able to direct personnel on the job site (i.e. proper hand signals)
- Able to document all lifts as required per standards
- Good communication skills
- Familiar with MTTC reporting procedures for accidents/incidents and near misses

- Previous tree work experience
