Safety & Training
Safety is our top priority! Mead Tree & Turf Care wants our employees to go home to their families at the end of every day. We adhere to all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MOSH), and the American National Safety Institution (ANSI) safety standards. We have multiple Certified Tree Care Safety Professionals (CTSPs) on staff and teach all employees how to prevent accidents from happening. At the initial employee orientation and at safety meetings once a week throughout the year, Mead Tree and Turf Care employees are taught:
- Safety is a condition of employment
- Every accident is preventable
- From the newest employee, to the president of the company, safety is everyone's responsibility
- Strategies to perform all aspects of their job safely
- CPR and First Aid
Mead Tree & Turf Care delivers quality service to our customers by assuring that our entire staff is educated in the latest methods and research. We are committed to the professional growth of our employees, incorporating current practices into our weekly training meetings to properly prepare employees for performance of arboricultural and horticultural operations in compliance with procedures and standards set by ANSI, ISA, TCIA, and NALP. Additionally, production is shut down multiple times a year for all-day training sessions, where employees have a chance to learn various tree and landscape procedures in a relaxed environment, focusing on improving their skills under the guidance of certified trainers and without the worry of getting a job done.
Members of our staff are regularly requested to train other companies. We are committed to helping all members of the green industry reach their potential.
